Mom Spark Media Welcomes Dad Bloggers!

Media relations powerhouse Cision recently posted the Top 50 Daddy Bloggers. So, dads are out there blogging and writing and posting about what matters to them. Dads are passionate about the same issues as moms…their children’s welfare, health, and safety; finances; work-life balance; time management; equitable division of household chores; and so much more.

But a search for “How many dads blog?” yielded a few off-the-wall responses, such as, a blog post on how many days a week you should workout…or a post on how many Groundhog days there were in the movie of the same name…and another one on how many days it takes to respond to a comment. So, dad blogging and dad bloggers may not be high on everyone’s radar. But, looking back a few short years ago, neither was mom blogging.

Today 3.9 million women with children write blogs in the U.S., according to Wendy Piersall, author of the new Mom Blogging for Dummies. The number will rise to 4.4 million by 2014. Another statistic of note from Technorati is that 55 percent of moms say that they make purchases based on recommendations of a personal review blog…more often than not written by a mom.

But what about dads? Dads buy stuff, too. Dads need their child potty trained for the new school year. So, who do dads go to for reviews and recommendations of products or parenting advice and tips? While stats are hard, if not impossible, to find dads — like moms — go to fellow, trusted dads online, whether through searching for a product review on a new dishwasher, tweeting about what cool toy to buy for a 6-year-old, or writing from-the-heart blog posts and hoping for a comment or two.

Mom Spark Media is proud to announce the addition of Dad Bloggers to its ranks! Mom Spark Media is here to help dad bloggers grow their blogs through education, support, and community. Mom Spark Media is not your typical social media group. MSM offers services to its members including access to brand ambassador programs; online product review campaigns from high profile brands, including Jockey, Dell, Lands End, Movies on Demand, Huggies; and education and training to help you build your brand and blog.

A few short years ago, moms never realized that by writing about what mattered most to them on their blogs they could forge a career. With education and support, the transition from blogging as a hobby to blogging as a career can happen for dads, too. Mom Spark Media wants to provide support to dad bloggers to make this happen.
